Should i wear my contacts a day after havong something wrong with my eye?

yesterday all of a sudden underneath my eye started hurting. like pushing on it or putting my head down made it hurt. then i had goopy stuff coming out of it. this morning i woke up and it didnt hurt and it hasnt had stuff in it. im planning on going out in like an hour and cant find my glasses and cant see without them. do you think it is all right to wear my contacts this evening. and they will be new ones not the ones i was wearing when my eye started getting sick.

well i know it not pink eye because i have had that before and know what its like. but i am perfectly fine now my eye isn't bugging me at all so i think it would be pointless to see a doctor

Although your eye is one of the fastest healing organs on your body... it's still best to allow it to heal without anything hindering that process. I'd wear my glasses a day or two, to make sure that it has healed. (Keep an "eye" on it) If there is any question in your mind about it, it's better to have your opthamologist look at your eye(s). Don't take any chances with them. You only get one set! Hope you feel better soon!

See an eye doctor immediately to have that checked.

Nope consult you optometrist

are your eyes red or swollen?? the drainage says to me that it could be pink eye...in which case it's really not smart to wear your contacts..you'll basically have to discard that pair if it turns out that is IS pink eye, plus - the contact could irritate your eye and make it worse.

I would say to find your glasses and skip the contacts...especially since you haven't seen a doctor yet to determine that there isn't something IN the eye. contacts can cause foreign objects to grind against the cornea - causing damage.
make an appointment with your eye doctor as soon as possible, he can diagnose pink eye if that's the case and write you a prescription for antibiotic eye drops. If it's a foreign body, he can treat that too. in the meantime...wash your hands after touching in or around your eye, don't share washclothes or towels and be very careful about who you are in contact with. Pink eye is extremely contagious - you can spread it to your other healthy eye or give it to others.

you better get your eye checked out, goopy stuff and pain isn't a good sign. and i would wait before using contacts, but listen to what your eye doctor tells you when you visit.

Try it! If your uncomfortable then get them out.

No - it sounds like you might have had pink eye, but that takes longer to clear up than one day. Go to the doc to make sure everythings okay before you put them in. If you have an infection, it could infect your contacts.

Better skip wearing the contacts. You have to check first with the doctor as to what causes the pain in your eye.

I would recommend that you not wear any contacts for the next few days in that eye. In the meantime, wear your glasses or, if you have absolutely no other option only wear one contact in the eye that had no troubles.

If this persists, make an appointment with your physician. He or she should be able to assess the problem, and screen for something that might be more serious, as well as refer you to an opthamologist.

Good luck and God bless.

THROW THOSE CONTACTS AWAY, SEE YOUR EYE DOCTOR:) YOU PROBABLY HAVE A INFECTION, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE YOUR CONTACTS FOR A WEEK OR UNTIL YOUR DOC SAYS SO!!!!! SO GET YOUR GLASSES OUT!! I'VE BEEN THERE AND IT STINKS! ALSO DO YOURELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT SLEEP WITH THEM ON! GOOD LUCK:)
