Does anyone else with dry eye syndrome find it painful to wear eye makeup...has anyone tried contact lenses? |
I was wondering if contacts would help or hurt the problem more. I use refresh pm or lacrilube at night. Drops in the daytime I have very mild dry eye. I can wear contacts, but only for the day - there's no way I could wear the extended wear (overnight) ones - I had some for a while and I can't even take a nap in them! I also can't wear them much past 9 or 10:00 in the evening, even if I'm still up - they just get way too dry. Even re-wetting drops only help for about 5 minutes. You can try using make up for sensitive eyes such as Physicians Formula or Almay. As for the contacts that would not be a good idea since soft contacts are hydrophilic meaning they "love" water. This would actually make your dry eye problem worse. But your Optometrist would be better able to tell you your options. Hope this helped! contacts make dryness worse. There are contacts for dry eyes, but they still make your eyes more dry. |
