How do i get rid of a sty on my eye, and can i wear contacts if i have one?

i got this sty in my left eye - probably because of stress...

how do i get rid of it (besides for warm compresses that never actually seem to work)

also, i wear contacts and dont currently have glasses that are the right perscribtion, so do i need to buy like "1 day" contacts, or are my "2 week" contacts fine?
like if i wear the contacts will it keep the sty for longer?

(also, if anyone knows what causes sty's please tell me so i can prevent it next time. i get them often)

Sounds like you have either a hordeolum (likely red + painful) or a chalazion (non tender and kind of hard to the touch). Warm compressess and gentle lid massage are a great first line treatment. Additionally, lid hygiene or lid scrubs can help clean out clogged pores on the lid margin. Depending on whether or not we're dealing with a hordeolum or chalazion, the treatment can differ. Tougher hordeolums can be treated with oral antibiotics, tougher chalazions can be treated with a steroid injection.

As far as contacts go, there is an infectious/inflammatory process occurring in/around your eyes, so it's best to not wear the contacts...you could end up with a corneal infection. See your eye doctor to resolve the issue and get an updated pair of glasses--never know when you'll need them.

P.S. Stress is an indirect cause-it lowers your body's immune response so that the bacteria that's normally on your superficial tissues has an opportunity to cause an infection/inflammation.

take a warm warm washcloth hold to your eye daily and no you can't put a contact in it will get very very sore

pull the eyelash out where the stye is,then wash eye out with tepid water.I dont think there is anything you can do to prevent sty's other than looking after your health. You should talk to your optician about lenses.
