PLEASE HELP, i wear contacts and my left eye has been bothering me for some time, what's wrong? |
i wear contacts and for most of the time my eyes are fine. but lately my left eye has been bothering me. The right one is fine yet after periods, which can be as short as 5 hours, of wearing my left contact, my contact starts to slide up. i try to move it down but it just goes back up. i think there is a discharge that is sticking to the contact and is pulling the contact upward. it sounds weird but i dont' know how else to explain it. and when i take my contact out, (the left one only) i feel pain in it as if something is in it, which lasts for a few minutes and it waters. i'm thinking it may be some type of pink eye, but i'm not sure. Doctors, contact wearers please help. It sounds like you have allergies or have been exposed to dust or dirt. You didn't say what kind of lens you wear. It's healthier for your eyes if you wear a daily wear that you can dispose of each night, then put in a fresh pair each day. It eliminates the problems you are facing. See you eye doctor...it could be anything from a defective lens to a scratched cornea (i think it's the latter). You don't want an infection to develop; so don't neglect it! You only have 2 eyes. you might have developed astigmatism. mine did that too when my astigmatism got worse. have u tried a new pair (or just the left) and does it do the same thing to the new one? maybe u have one stuck behind ur eye, too. r u sure u got them out the last time u changed em? or maybe u switched them. when i accidentally switch mine, one is ok but the other one is bothered. and theyre not inside out? maybe it could be an eye infection of some sort. maybe they need more hydration. i dont know there are so many things that could be wrong w/them. Maybe you should try the new Astigmatism contacts. The contacts probably need to soak in the solution for a LONG time to get all the bacteria and stuff out them. I use contacts but not as much. I hope that this helps, and good luck! Hope it gets better! 1 the contact maybe be to big and that may cause the sliding. But my eye hurt me for about a week and I used a steroid eye drop. You may think steroid is bad but this one is a medical treatment. Just ask your eye doctor. I used it for 4 times a day for 5 days. P.S chew gum, you can taste it after you put it in your eye. The drops are $50, but it worked for me. Just ask your doctor. Hope it feels better give them a rest It may be the eye rejecting the contact as a foreign body. The eye may be reacting to the contact as an infection or something. It may be an auto-immune response and you may have to switch contact types;or wear glasses. |
