Inside of my right eye gets irritated and bloodshot when I wear contacts, why? |
When I wear my contacts sometimes, the inside corner of my right eye gets bloodshot and painful. It's only this corner of this eye that is affected. The redness stays for days, any suggestions or known reasons for the pain? check your solution, is it renu? Sounds like you have a coroneal abraision or ulceration or maybe an infection. Do not wear your contacts until you get this eye checked out by the doc. If you keep wearing the contacts you can do permanent damage and may not be able to wear contacts again. Inflammation of the eye. Try saline solution or lubricating eye drops. Check to see if the contact lens is torn (if permanent contacts) or if they are disposable, have they been changed regularly. Rx Polytrim helps with the inflammation. Depends if you're using soft or hard contacts. For hard ones, it's probably due to prolonged use or damaged contact lens. There could be a tear or damage on the corners. Try close inspection, with magnifying lens (or have it looked by your eye doctor). Soft ones (the types you can use for a long time) are usually tough but can have tears or dirt stuck on the corners. Clean them regularly, use cleansing solutions or replace them as recommended. You could also be having allergic reaction from the solutions that you use. |
