I have astigmasism and one eye is far sighted, the other is near.. will I have to wear glasses for life? |
Will I always have to wear corrective lenses and contacts, or will my eye sight improve enough to where I won't need them? I'm 25. There are eye exercises than can reduce astigmatism and other refractive disorders. The exact mechanism of how they work is uncertain, but they do work. It seems that through exercising extra ocular muscles eye and cornea somehow change into normal shape. Is your problem poor visual acuity? You didn't say. You may want to look into getting contact lenses as if you decide to wear glasses, the lens for your farsighted eye will magnify the eye and it will look odd to the nearsighted eye but you will probably have to wear glasses/lenses all of the time unless you go for laser surgery. Good luck with whatever you choose. |
