My left eye tooth seems to click sometimes when I chew on it, what's going on? That tooth has signs of wear

Hi Im 24, My left eye tooth ( I believe it's tooth number 8) sometimes feels like it clicks when I chew on it or if I apply some pressure with my lip. It seems to come and go. I've visited the dentist a few times in the past and he took an x-ray and didn't see anything wrong with it and he also said that, "mobility is not an issue" In other words there is no excessive movement going on. This tooth does show signs of wear probably from clenching an/or grinding. I wear a clear retainer at night that resembles a bleaching tray so I was told that that protects me. I can def. say I used to clench on this tooth when I was stressed out last october. I thought maybe I have caused serious damage to that tooth or the neighboring left center tooth. Also I was told that maybe the nerve in that tooth could be playing tricks and making it seem like its clicking when really its not. I don't know. Does anybody maybe know what is going on or if this will ever go away?

WESLEY,
YOUR DENTIST NEEDS TO DO AN OCCLUSION ANALYSIS TO SEE HOW THIS TOOTH IS AFFECTED WHEN YOU BITE. YOU MAY NEED ORTHODONTICS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM.
