My daughter has a scratch on her eye, andit is pretty big. I am trying to find out what kind of complications if any this can cause. We are military, and you have to be very informed when dealing with the doctors to make sure they are doing what needs to be done. We have already been to the doctor twice, and have another appointment tomorrow. I was just wanting to make sure they were doing everything needed. Everything is looking good though. Hey there...you can look at this... look on emedicine.com, but get medical attention as soon as possible. Your daughter needs to be seen by an eye doctor as soon as possible. She needs to have antibiotics to make sure that the scratch doesn't become infected (it's fairly serious if it does become infected). She may also need a steroid eye drop if there is inflammation to make sure that the scratch heals properly. Another thing that the doctor will consider is how deep the scratch is and if he/she needs to look for any damage inside the eye. |

There are several things that can scratch your cornea. Probably the most likely ones in your situation are your fingernails (if you're rubbing your eyes) or an eyelash that gets stuck in your...
