A contact ripped in my eye. It's possible scratched / ripped eye, what should I do? |
I've had the problem before, I've been wearing contacts for 7 years now, and it was usually just 15 minutes of frustration trying to get it out. That is it. I don't want to go to the emergency room for no reason. There is NO pain when my eye is open (or on a blink), and an annoying but tolerable amount of pain for extended time when it's closed. you may have a corneal abrasion which will require antibiotic drops so that the abrasion does not develop into a more serious condition called corneal ulcer which can lead to blindness. i would make an appointment to see an ophthalmologist to prescribe drops asap.. good luck Put some solution in your eye to tear it up and see if you fee a contact lens then. Take a pain killer and try to get some sleep. Go to the doctor first thing in the morning, it's okay to walk in with something like this, it's an emergency. Holy crap, go to the ER! NEVER gamble with your eyesight. My sister thought she just had pink eye and went to the Dr. because of my pushing her and found out she had an infection if left untreated would have blinded her within hours! GO NOW! GO TO THE DOCTOR/EMERGENCY ROOM ASAP!!!!!! you need to see an optometrist first thing in the morning or go to the ER tonight, if your contact is stuck somewhere it has the potential to scratch the cornea which can cause permanent damage. If your embarrassed about it tell them that your aunt is a nurse and convinced to go to the Dr "i didn't want to but she said it could be serious" you'll be ok and your pride will stay intact. go to the emergency room. if there is anything in your, eye they will flush it out. I would have someone drive you to a hospital immediately. I had something similar happen to me and had a minor cut and infection that caused me to have to wear glasses for weeks. The tissue of the eye heals very quickly though. Look at certain laser eye surgeries that actually cut a small flap of your eye and later reattach it and have you back to work in 2 days. |
