Has anyone had Macular Hole surgery on the eye?

I am a 26 yr. old female and have been diagnosed with a macular hole. I have had no eye injury so this is very odd for my age. I am asking because I'd like to know if there is anyone else who has had this condition at such a young age. Also, tips for the healing period of 10 days face down. I am preg. currently and not sure whether to have surgery now or with a newborn. Face down will be very difficult either way. Also, I have been advised to have the surgery as soon as possible, so there is no way I could wait until the baby is older. Thanks for any input or advice.

You need the surgery now. I worked in a Retina Specialist office. You only have a certain period of time to repair holes/tears before the damage is permanent. It does take the 10 days face down. You are not too young...yes it is not common, but it does happen to those even younger than you. Good luck and hope all goes well.
