Eye seizures? |
my left eye has been twitching for over a week now, I haven't had a injury to the eye...what could be causing this to happen? If it is the eyelid that is twitching, that's a spasm of the muscles of the eyelid (lid myokymia), and pretty common; I don't know of an association with any medical problems. It's may be associated with stress and/or lack of sleep. If the eyeball itself is twitching, that could be nystagmus, and you should see an ophthalmologist, many things could be causin that... Twitching of the eye's is usually attributed to stress and over exertion - a trapped nerve can cause the eye to spasm intermittently, but if it carries on any longer than a few hours it's pobably best to get a check up ith the doctor, as it may be a symptom of something else Most likely stress- if this continues, go to your eye care professional. |
