What the fastest way to reduce a swelling of the eye from an injury?

Immediately apply ice to the area which constricts the blood vessels and reduces swelling. As the other responder said, frozen peas work great because they conform to the area. Have two bags, one to use and one remaining in the freezer. Take Ibuprofen which is also a great drug for any type of swelling. Tylenol won't work (it never works for me anyway, I might as well drink water). Good luck.

ice it.....

Ice or bag of frozen peas

Get some ice on it right away, but no more than 20 mins at a time or you can damage the skin tissue...or as ladyinblue suggested, a bag of frozen veggies. I have a bag of frozen peas that I use ONLY for icing injuries now because it has been thawed and refrozen so many times.

I'm dealing with a leg injury right now myself...but am beyond using ice, and now use mild heat. Ice only works well for the first 24 - 48 hours I think. You can look up online how to treat swelling to be sure you are icing it frequently enough and when to stop icing it even if the swelling isn't gone.

Piece of raw steak or sliced cucumber depending on the injury!
