Info about corneal abrasion? |
i've had an eye injury called corneal abrasion on my right eye just 3 days ago. The pain on my eye is gone since yesterday but my eye sight is significantly worsened only on my right eye. I had 20 20 vision when i did the eye sight check in the hospital when I was getting my eye checked up for this injury but the vision of my right eye is very blurry now. is this one of the normal symptoms of this injury and if it is does it get better over period of time? or should I seek doctor right away? It should get better in a couple days -the surface of the cornea heals in 24-48 h but depending on the deepness of the injury could it take a bit longer for you to regain best visual acuity-it takes time to restore the smoothness of the surface Never hesitate to see an ophthalmologist when you have an eye injury! I've had several corneal abrasions over the years, & yes, they are very painful. you could be experiencing the temporary effects of scar tissue -- but you need to see (no pun intended!) your doctor RIGHT AWAY; you'll most likely get antibiotic drops. The last thing you need is an infection that may jeopardize your sight permanently! |
