Can dogs spread eye infections to humans? |
I woke up with red eyes and a yellowish discharge. I already have an appointment with the doctor; but I was wondering if maybe this eye infection had something to do with my dog. He is a three month-old chihuahua and he has a swollen eye with the same yellowish discharge, but it is common for him to be like this because his eyes always get watery when he is outside. He has his shots and everything. i don't think that would happen.. but who knows.. def. check with the doctor.. thats weird! usualy no I would think Yes. If the dog's eyes are infected with a bacteria or virus that can also infect humans, then it is completely possible that you petted the pooch, then accidently rubbed your eyes before washing your hands. These bacterial are found all over the world, so they are impossible to avoid. Hand washing, as always, is the key. Good luck. No no you can't get infections from dogs as I learned that many years ago. Yes, also ear infections...... |
