I wanna get contact lenses but I heard they give a lot of eye infections. Is this true? No, that's not true. For a while (over the past 6 months or so), different manufacturers of the cleaning/saline solutions were having trouble where the solutions themselves were causing some type of eye infections in some people. But of course, they went through the recall process and pulled those off from the shelves. I've worn contacts for a year or more now, and I have never had an eye infection. It's all about washing your hands well before you put your contacts in, and using solution to wash them in, instead of plain water like some people use. Water has microscopic bacterial orgnanisms in it that can indeed give you an eye infection sometimes. But if you are using the saline solution (I like to use the 'no rub' solution, because it cleans a lot better and I don't have to worry about scratching or tearing my contact), then there should be no problem. Yes been wearing them almost 25 years...keep them clean and even if it says you can sleep with them don't. I've been wearing contacts since the mid 80's. I never had an eye infection due to my contacts. I wear gas perm. ones. Just make sure you clean them and store them in clean solution as directed by your eye doc. I have contacts and have gotten eye infections only because i wore them when i slept. If you follow what the doc's say i'm sure you'll be okay with contacts. plus, a lot of people say it's easier to have around. contacts are good especially if you hate glasses. If you are careful and use proper hygiene, you should be ok. Keep them in their solution. Never let them dry out and don't keep them in your eyes for a long period of time. I was going to get coloured ones just for looks but I really don't want to risk having any problems considering it's only cosmetic.... keep them clean, and you should not have any problems As long as you keep them clean and follow the directions of your doctor you should be fine. it's rather a question of hygiene, so totally under your control. Today just about everyone can wear contact lenses, and there are more healthful and convenient contact lens options than ever before. Contact lenses are used to correct the same conditions that eyeglasses correct. For all details, information and remedies about contacts check out http://use-contactlens.blogspot.com/ |
