Is this normal w/ contacts? eye infection maybe? |
hey, im having a problem with my right eye... it deosnt crust or swell or anything its just that it feels like i have something in my eye and sometimes when i close my eye, it stings/feels cold. this happens with or withought my contacts. and also yesterday, my eye was watering really bad! i dont know if it was because of the wind, or because it was FREEZING [im a hockey cheerleader, i didnt think it would be that cold... silly me, ITS A RINK FILLED WITH ICE!] but i was standing near a heater.... and yeah, im realy worried because i love wearing my contacts [glasses are bulky] and also if i get an eye infetion, my mom will take my contacts away frome me because she'll call me "irresponsible'" is there anything i can put in my eye to lessen my chances of eye infections? is this just a faulse alare? [please please say yess] =,[ and also, my eye isnt puffy or red, it looks just like it did before, as if nothing is happening, it just feels really itchy, wierd, stinging, but somethimes i dont feel a thing at all! the symptoms come and go.. sho i buy eye wash to wash them when i take my contacts out? also i use clearcare contact solution. it fizzes up and really cleans it. i have to leave it in the solotion for lat least 6 hours or it will sting my eye when i put contacts in...i guess its really strong.... lol pleas tell me anything and everything you can and you know. ireally need help. what ever it is, i want to stop it befor it starts..... hopfully its nothing thogh, i whould deffinetly be more carefull =/ This always happens to me. Try doing all of these: (if one doesn't work, move on to the next one) I would go to your eye care professional as soon as possible! I had the same things going on with my left eye as you do with your right and ended up with an ulcer on my cornea because I didn't get it taken care of soon enough. I had to go for two years without contacts, and they told me that if the ulcer had scarred, I could have gone blind in that eye! Go get it checked out, it's not worth the risk! no its not normal you need to go to the eye doctor and your mom is right to take your contacts away when you have the problem. if you don't at least find out whats going on then you might really have something wrong with your eyes and you could develop a problem where you cant wear contacts anymore. by the way kudos on the clear care solution. i work for an ophthalmologist and that is all she recommends. Here's what I do each day...I always remove my contacts before going to bed...I squirt some eyewash into each eye after taking them out and I wash my eyes again when i get up in the morning. |
