I have had eye infection for almost 3 months!!!! What the heck is it?

My right eye has been red and slightly tender for almost three months. The redness is mainly in the inner corner and it comes and goes. It is worse in the morning when I wake up and when my allergies are acting up. There is no discharge. I do not wear contacts. I have seen two doctors. The first one gave me antibiotics and a Vigamox eye drops.... Which did absolutely nothing. An eye doctor then gave me a Zpack and some steroid eye drops which didn't seem to help much either. I hate antiobiotics because they give me yeast infections and the last two I've taken haven't done crap for my eye anyway!!! What should I do?

It's likely an Allergic Conjunctivitis because 1) there is no discharge 2) the antibiotics don't work on it 3) symptom's worse with allergies.

In mild cases, cool compresses and artificial tears sometimes relieve discomfort. In more severe cases, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications and antihistamines are prescribed.

It doesn't seem to be viral conjunctivitis becuase the viral type usually resolves within weeks.

It's not bacterial conjunctivitis because this type is treatable with antibiotics and a common diagnostic symptom is thick discharge which you don't get.

It's obviously not Contact Lens Associated Red Eye because you don't wear contacts.

Because it's been going on for 3 months, i suggest you see a doctor again. Until then, try to stay away from things that you're allergic to.

it sounds like an allergy to me =apparently the creams aren't helping though=perhaps see an eye Dr
