One-day eye infection...? |
i got this eye infection that looked similar to what my mom had just a few weeks ago. we didn't go to the doctor, she told me to use the eye drop she got (vigamox). i used those for 1 1/2 days. the next day my sister got the same thing. she didnt use anything and her's went away the next day along with mine. is it ok to start wearing contacts now or do i still have an eye infection? I would either go see your optometrist or wait a few days before putting in your contact lenses. Pink eye (conjunctivitis) does not resolve in 1 day (usually over 7 days). So, it sounds like either your eye is still infected (most likely since you all had it) or it was something else completely. Eye infections (pink eye) are contagious...I would go to doctor and ask him that question...usually eye infections don't go away that quickly...if you put that contact in ur eye you may irritate it this will most probably be conjunctivitis, i have had it plenty of tomes. If you still have a sticky residue from your eyes you have conjunctivitis. u might of had something called an internal eye sty but dont use contacts for another 2-3 days keep the eye cleen to make shure it is ok Conjunctivitis- Inflammation of the conjunctiva. Sounds like something contagious like pink eye. You shouldn't wear contacts without checking with a doctor to make sure the infection is gone completely. You shouldn't be sharing eye drops. The tip of the bottle could be harboring germs and bacteria. By sharing eye drops, you can spread these. You are a contact lens wearer. Contact lenses can cause red, irritated eye for several different reasons. Allergic reaction to proteins that build up on contact lenses can cause itchy red eyes. Dry eye induced by contact lenses will cause a uncomfortable, red eye. The most serious contact lens related problem is a infection leading to a ulcer on the cornea. Generally the eye is painful and there is light sensitivity if there is a corneal ulcer. |
