Eye infection + contact lenses...? |
Hi, i recently had a bad cold and i wore color contact lenses, i went to an optomatrist and he said the eye infection might be from the cold too, it might be a viral infection, but like even after the cold got better, it was still itchy kind of, i wondered if it was bacterial infection, so i put my contacts in the case for few weeks i didnt wear them, how do i know if my contact lenses are infected...and if i have to throw them out, cuz during this period i threw 2 out alrready...for precaution.. We always tell all our patients that had infections of any sort to not wear contacts during the infection and to start with new ones once they get the go ahead form the doctor. Did you get a follow up visit? Maybe you should call them and see if you were supposed to come in for a follow up and then ask them what they think you should do about wearing the lenses. Just play it safe, hon, no one needs a secondary eye infectiont hat might be worse than the first one! Hi. |
