Treatment for eye infection?

a friend told me if I wash my eye with baby shampoo, the infection will go away. I did this for about 4 days and it seemed gone, but when i put my contacts in, it came back, this time in both eyes. Someone else said you must have antibiotic eye drops to cure it. which is true?

YOu really need the antibiotic. The Baby shampoo just kept it at bay. You also need to throw out your contacts. Call your doctor and get it checked out...they will give you drops!

That is because your lenses were contaminated. Throw them away because every time you put them in, you will reinfect yourself.

As for the baby shampoo - I would get in to see the doctor to get a proper diagnosis and treatment from an actual eye doctor. Washing the lids with baby shampoo usually stimulates tear production, but really does nothing to kill bacteria or viruses, which if it is viral, the infection will have to run its course. But if its bacterial, you will need some type of prescription antibiotic eye drop.

Definitely toss those contacts and get a new pair. If you were the lenses at all while you have the infection, it contaminates the lenses, no matter how well you clean them.
