Could this be a eye infection?

i got soap in my eye i wash my eye with water to get it out but ever since than my eye been burning ,i use eye drops but thats not working , so could i have a eye infection?

Probably not. I've gotten soap in my eye lots of times. The burning will go away after your eye washes itself out a couple of times. It might be the soap is under the eyelid, yadah... anyways, don't worry about it. But, if the stinging lasts more than a day, consult your local docter.

ya see a dr

Nope. This happened to me before. I got alot of soap in my eye. And it stinged for about 30 minutes. Just close your eyes and relax. And if you don't relax by 1-2 hours then go see a doctor. Good Luck.

It's possible that you could have an eye infection but it's most likely that you didn't wash the soap out properly with Optrex or something and your eye got irritated. Go to your doctor and they will prescribe you something especially for irritated eyes or for an eye infection.

Soap may irritate your eye. If you really flushed out your eye well with water, the irritaton should leave shortly. If you wake up with a crusty eye, discharge, redness you may have contracted conjuntivitis, (pinkeye). There are two types of pinkeye, viral and bacterial. You should see an eye doctor who can tell by examining you what type you have and what meds to give you.
Feel better.

You probably scratched it. If it is really bad cover it for a day. If it continues to be really red or has any discharge, see the doctor. I just had a bad scratch and after a day or two covered it was much better.

What kind of soap did you get in your eye? If it is a really harsh one than you could have actually damaged part of your eye. Depending on how many times you are putting drops in your eye it could be making it worse. You should never over medicate, even with something as small as eye drops. I would see your doctor, it might just be nothing, or it could be an infection completely irrelivant to getting soap in your eye. Usually if an infection is present you will have yellow or green discharge coming from the eye.
