Can a regular eye exam from from an opthemetrist detect diseases and disorders in the eye ? |
My eyes having been hurting me since i started plaing my xbox excessively, even when i stopped the pain still went on... it's been a month now and i still have the pain and my vision gets kindas glarey when i try to watch anything 3d or when i look at the digital alrm clock.. i'm also having headaches which as lasted up until a month now and painkillers don't do much.. i think i might have the dry eyes syndromn but i don't know whether or not a regular eye exam from an optemetrist can detect and diagnose my problems. You should see an opthalmologist as soon as possible. But, depending on where you are, I think you need to get a referred by a GP or optometrist. i would go to an opthomologist. your regular optometrist should be able to reccommend someone to you. YES IS TRUE i advise you in this case to go to a GP It should. Just make sure to tell your doc what has been There are a lot of good optometrists out there, but for your problem, I really would recommend seeing an ophthalmologist. Sounds like you may be having some inflammation in the eye or some kind of angle closure glaucoma. It may also be a problem totally unrelated to your eyes (e.g. sinus disease, orbital or cranial diseases / lesions). Most optometrists can detect outer and inner eye disease and maladies. If they see something that they can not treat they will most likely send you to an Ophthalmologist. You can start iwht a regular eye exam and go from there. It may be just something simple like the need for Rx glasses, or it might be something different. Go to the Optometrist and see. LORI when i went to the optomitrest he did some test right there to see if i had diseases in the eyes...you need to tell your doctor so they can get you to a specialist to find out what;s causing this pain for you.....I f necessary go to your regular doctor and see what they say....good luck hope you get better soon.......................... |
