Incurable eye disease?

A girl at school told me she has an incurable eye disease that makes her vision gradually worse and could make her lose her eyesight permanently. What is this called? I already tried googling it but couldn't find anything.

I don't know if this makes a difference but she's not old only like 16.

For example. coat's disease etc.
The eye in the backside is getting old and old, whick
makes bleeding and macular/retinal degereration.

However, if the blood circulation on the eyes will prevent
the degereration and sometimes recover to normal status.
That will be possible by herbal prescription.
