Eye disease connected to hyperactive thyroid is called what? |
Hyperactive thyroid patients at times develop aan eye disease caused by the thyroid. What is that eye disease called? Is there a cure for bulging eyes? You mean exophthalmos. This isn't an eye disease but is a complication of Graves' disease. There's an increase in fluid volume in the tissue behind the eyes due to inflammation causing the outward bulging characteristic with Graves'. I'm disappointed that the Asker didn't choose a best answer but I thank the Voters who chose mine. Report It It's just called Thyroid Eye Disease. So far there isn't a cure for the bulging eyes. |
