My friend's eye was burning -- could it be a contagious eye disease that i could get?

if yes, please specify what it could be where possible.
if no, please tell me how you know?
thanks so much!!!!

whatever your friend's problem, unless you rubbed her eye with your finger and then rubbed your own, with the same finger, it's unlikely you will be bothered with her problem.
As to what causes burning in eyes, there are a lot of possibilities, including allergies, irritants in the air, chemicals to which she reacts, chronic dry eye. Your friend needs to see a doctor to determine the cause.

If it's burning she could have pink eye..
If her eye starts to turn a pink-ish color she definitely needs to go see an optometrist
