What does 'pig-eye lated mean? (in viral disease)?

it is used in the field of viral diseases. the contex was '...production of pig-eye lated interferon medicine...'

The word is pegylated. Pegylation is a process that involves attaching a large substance - polyethylene glycol or PEG - to a protein. In the case of pegylated-interferon (PEG-interferon) PEG is arched to interferon. This enables it to stay in the body longer and the frequency of the need for interferon injections is reduced from 3 times a week to once a week. When pegylated interferon stays in the body longer, viral disease such as hep C is suppressed longer than with regular interferon. This will result in better response to therapy.
