I came across a 2-yr kid, her left eyeball was removed due 2 cancer,is there a way an eye can be transplanted?

Eye Donation all over the world has become common and many people opt for donation. so eyes are available in plenty in all contries. So transplantation of eye is possible. But it depends on the areas affected by the cancer and the effects of chemo-radiation given in the areas eye. It greatly depends on the damage caused by Cancer and your Ocular Oncologist and eye surgeon will decide about the transplantation.

Ocular oncology takes into consideration that the primary requirement for patients is preservation of life by removal of the tumor, along with best efforts directed at preservation of useful vision, followed by cosmetic appearance. The treatment of ocular tumors is generally a multi-specialty effort, requiring coordination between the ophthalmologist, medical oncologist, radiation specialist, head & neck surgeon / ENT surgeon, pediatrician/internal medicine/hospitalist and a multidisciplinary team of support staff and nurses.

Please leave it to them and if possible they will fix an eye, and it is an very easy proceedure. Best of luck for your kid to get his vision. Plase do not take any chance and treat it completely as CANCER IS STILL AN ENIGMA-

yes, they use dead peoples eye ball, it worked.

No, the nerves won't function and without them the signals can't be transmitted to the brain. Cornea transplants is as far as they have gotten.

No the only thing possible is a cornea transplant!

yes it can, I know someone who has a glass eye but I don't know if medical technology has advanced since he had it done.
