Re: bio idential hormone replacement therapy, can dhea, progesterone, or estrogen cause weight gain?

Hard to say from your question. Are you taking all of those or are you asking can any particular one of them cause it? IF you are taking any (or all) of them with a doctor's monitoring in order to be sure that you are getting the right combination for your unique needs, then I'd say "no" they should not be associated with weight gain. In fact, many women find they lose weight once they get their hormones balanced.

HI!!!!!!!!!!

I gained 80 pounds in 2 years and after ELEVEN doctors found one who knew something. It was caused by a severe hormone imbalance and he plus a naturopathic chinese medicine doctor told me once the hormones get balanced the weight will come back off. I asked if I would gain while on the bio-identical hormones and was told no!!!! Just to give them time to do their work and it would stop.

GOOD LUCK! :)

Everyone is different but the opposite happened to me. It has balanced & I am now losing that "middle-age" spread so many women get when they go through the change.
I do exercise moderately also.
