I just had a complete Hysterectomy 2 months ago. Everything is now gone including the ovaries. My skin is so dry. I am taking a very low dose of Estrogen but am wondering about other hormone supplements. I would like to hear from others who have tried different types of replacement therapy. my dear, I'm from the medical field... I haven't tried hormone replacement therapy myself.. but I am giving that to my patients...
if you had total hysterectomy... the hormone you really need is a low dose estrogen... because this is the only hormone needed for proper functioning of your other secondary reproductive organs such as your mammary glands (breast) for your body.
If you'll replace your estrogen with other hormone, the most probable hormone you can only get is progesterone... because these are the only two hormones for your reproductive system....
If you'll choose progesterone you may be producing milk in your breast because it's function is for the lactation, you may not like that in that way because you have no baby to feed if ever...
So, my dear, just stick to estrogen, the dryness in your skin is just a presenting side effect but it will disappear later on... just drink lots of fluids to hydrate your dry skin...
