ESOPHAGEAL CANCER - earliest symptoms? (scared bulimic!)?

before it gets difficult to eat solid foods and such, and before the weight loss.
i've been experiencing (on and off) difficulty swallowing, pain in my chest and throat, the feeling of a cut/obstruction (it's hard to explain) in my throat (this has been going on for a few months), and it is extremely easy for food to come up (I can regurgitate simply by swallowing a certain way)
i'm worried because i've been bulimic for the past 5 years and have thrown up very regularly (usually several times a day), with the exception of periods of 2 weeks-maximum of a month when i've tried recovering.
i'm just really worried because i've read that bulimics or people with GERD are at high risk to develop this, and i don't know what else would be causing the symptoms i've been getting but this.
thanks in advance.
(i'm really scared to go to the doctor, which is why i'm asking here first)

for the past week my symptoms have gotten worse, and the last time i regurgitated i had hiccups for about an hour...is that a symptom of es. cancer? right now all i feel like all i can eat is unsolid food...

It sounds more like you are headed towards a ruptured esophagus... I dont know if thats better then cancer though. Either way you need to go to the doctor. And no... he will not tell anyone you have an eating disorder... or force you to get treatment... Bile is a ***** though and should think treatment over. Internal bleeding or a size 6? The choice is yours. A thin pretty corpse... is still a corpse. Much love honey... e-mail if you need support... I know where you are coming from.

Very much doubt it is cancer, it would be from the bulimia. Bulimia is a serious health problem it will damage your body more than you realize, seek help before its too late.

more than likely you have damaged your digestive tract with the recurrence of vomiting. Their are acids in your stomach and when forced into your esophagus on a routine basis will eat away at the soft lining causing sensitivity and obstructions in some cases. Yes you do need to go see a doctor and quit throwing up.

Sweetie, you must go to the doctor, as soon as possible. Putting it off because you are afraid is only giving more time for something really serious to develop, not just cancer, but esophageal varices, too.
If you have difficulty seallowing AND hiccups, go on Monday.
In any case, don't put it off anymore.

I'm not going to tell you to stop the bulimia, you've already heard all that. My sister is bulimic and she had something that sounded similar to what you have. When she went to the doctor she learned that she had scar tissue in the esophagus and it wouldn't expand. The doctor ran an instrument down her throat and stretched it and now she is fine. Before the procedure, it was so tight, I've seen her choke on an aspirin. Please do get whatever help you need to stay healthy.

My friend, even thought this has nothing to do with the, but it's similar, used to be abused when she was younger, and they think from repeated beatings, she developed cancer in the frontal lobe. If you have something that doesn't let your body heal, and if it keeps opening the wounds over and over again, you can develop cancer, because the cells become deformed, and that part of your body grows, and it's a deformity in the genetics. It's kind of like a really fast version of the theory of how we developed from monkeys. It happens so quickly sometimes. You need to go to the doctor. But also, you need to relax, because cancer can be cured. There are so many options available, in some cases it doesn't work, but technology is becoming better. I would suggest right now, you feel your neck, on the sides, under your chin, everywhere, and behind your ears for swollen lymph nodes that don't hurt. If they hurt then you have a common cold. If they don't, it's a symptom of cancer. Also, check your arm pits for swollen bumps, that aren't very big, maybe an inch around. You'll feel them if they're swollen. Good luck! I hope this experience has scared you enough for you to stop throwing up. You need to eat, skinny people can eat 5 small meals a day. And you don't have to be skinny to be healthy.
