What is Occupational Ergonomics?

What is Occupational Ergonomics?

It's the proper body mechanics for performing your job. Like, if you sit at a desk at a computer, you need the right chair height, keyboard positioning etc. Otherwise, your body will eventually feel the pains of improper positioning over long periods of time.

It has to do with how comfortable your chair is at work, whether or not your mouse is one such would cause repetitive motion stress (over years) - mainly whether or not your furniture, equipment, etc, are aligned properly to best reduce chances of developing physical problems associated with doing the same movements or sitting in the same position in the office (or any job) over and over and over. Eg. Not ergonomically sound - a computer and a keyboard that are at a 90 degree angle to one another. or in a different plane of profession, pails with steel wire handles used to carry 40 pound buckets of wet cement.
Or, in another plane - guns that backfire - not ergonomically sound.
