Epstein barr virus Relapse?

I already had mono...why is it relapsing. the doc wont give me steriods again. this time my throat is fine but my lymph nodes in my right neck are swollen and tender and my whole neck is sore. im tired all the time again. what do i do!

unfortunately once you have the virus, you will always have it. everytime you get run down/stressed and your immune system gets depressed it will start causing symptoms again and each time is tends to get worse. this has happened to me too and i have been hospitalized the most recent time and this is how doctors have explained it to me! good luck and best wishes!

None of the answers so far match anything I could find from a reliable source. In fact, they all say that you can't relapse once you have recovered. If you have a swollen gland, you should have a doctor check it out, since it could be something more serious if it doesn't go away. Report It

hmmm. i've relapsed 3 times ... not a whole lot you can do other than rest up and take it easy like before. drink a lot of water and take your vitamins.

hope you feel better. i know it's a pain.

You always have mono. I relapse at least once a year. Nothing you can do but sleep and let it run its course. Steriods will do nothing anyways.
