Epstein-Barr Virus, Is it Contagious?

Epstein-Barr Virus, Is it Contagious?

No, its a residual of Mononucleosis. Mono is of course, contagious. Epstein Barr stage of it is not.

Not highly. To lower viral load, detoxify. See link below for most effective method that I have found.

Best of luck to you.

Yes; it's otherwise known as glandular fever, and you can catch it through kissing someone who already has the virus - even if they themselves are not showing symptoms.

if it wasn't , you couldn't catch it.

Yes. Epstein-Barr virus is a virus. Infectious mononucleosis (aka mono) is the disease that humans get when they are infected with Epstein-Barr virus. Similarly, HIV is a virus (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) which causes the disease AIDS. Epstein-Barr virus is easily transmissable - which is why mono is called 'the kissing disease'. The most common mode of transmission is via body fluids (kissing, sex, etc.) but it can be transmitted via respiratory particles. People infected with Epstein-Barr virus normally start to get symptoms of infectious a few weeks after inoculation with the virus. Symtoms include sore throat, swollen glands, and extreme fatigue. I hope this helps.

Extremely contagious. Passes through saliva. Also known as infectious monocleosis, mono, glandular fever.
