Epilepsy and cop lights? |
My boyfriend has epilepsy. He's on medication so i'm not to scared but yesterday night I was driving him home and we passed like 7 cop cars with his lights on. We were all so in the Parade of Lights in Denver this year (we're both in a band) and we were behind a fire truck. All in all, there were a lot of flashing lights which got me to thinking: He doesn't ever have just small petti mal ones, if he has the small ones then there is going to be a grand mal in 10- 20 minutes If your boyfriend is on proper medications, is being treated by a doctor, and his seizures are under control there should be no danger. I've heard them called 'photo-seizures' and I sometimes get them. But they're not like full-blown seizures at all. I never lose consciousness, but I'll suddenly see flashing pin-pricks of light that do not obscure my vision at all. And I never lose consciousness. If your boyfriend takes his meds, you're probably entirely safe with him :) actually i heard of this, but from what ive read i believe its less than 6 percent of epileptics people can have a seizure triggered by light/picture. |
