Seizures?? Not Epilepsy? |
what causes a person to have seizures besides epilepsy, brain tumors, fevers ect No I'm not afraid of "catching it" I can have as many as 30 seizures, the day. diabetes, high blood pressure, low blood pressure. It could be a certain kind of infection in the brain, or she could have come in contact with some sort of chemical that triggered it. It depends on what type of physical reaction you are talking about. # 1 there are many types of epilepsy there are types where the patient has staring episodes. Some people have convulsive reactions with different meds. Or it could be an emotional issue that has not been properly diagnosed. Hopefully she is under the care of a physician. The most important thing is for everyone to be supportive to her and not make her feel different because of her condition. There are many things which can cause a seizure. Certain medications, diabetes, high/low blood pressure, high/low thyroid, etc. The question is are you curious because you wish to help her or because your afraid of "catching" it. I ask this because if you are asking because you fear for her, then approach her and ask her about it. Let her know that you care and befriend her. She will probably be more than glad to discuss it with you if she feels you are sincere in your concern. If you are just scared of it and are not motivated by concern, then I would just drop it. You can't catch it (she wouldn't be in school if you could) and she isn't likely to share the cause with someone who is just another person in one of her classes who usually just stares at her. |
