Endoscopy in children.? |
The family doctor intends to undertake an endoscopy on my five year old son to diagonize what is preventing him from gaining weight. The boy has problem with eating disorder and at the age of 5 is still on 16kg, which has been contant for the last two years. Is it safe to conduct the endoscopy on children at that age? My younger son (5 years old) had one done about a year ago, and I as so scared, he was blowing bubbles while they put the iv with the anaesthetic on it and he was sleep a minute later. An hour later he woke up and was having popsicles to help with the soar throat, altought he never actually complained of any pain or discomfort. That day he was a little tired and very relax. Next day it was all back to normal. yes it's safe let the doctor do whatever it takes to make him feel better! He wouldnt' do it if it was not a safe procedure! yes both of my daughters agea 3 and 5 had that done and they r fine and on antibiotics |
