Endoscopy Results-What it means?

I had a heart burn problem and took a endoscopy. Here is what the report says
LA Grade A esophagitis ,Biopsied
Non bleeding erythematous gastropathy
Normal 3 -rd part of duodenum
the examination was otherwise normal

What does this means? What kind of problem I am having..can any one help me.I have a appt with my Dr after 10 days

It means your esophagus (food tube) is inflamed probably from your heart burn. The Dr. took a biopsy and that will come back later. There is some redness in the gastric (stomach) area but no bleeding. Thus there is no ulcer seen. It is basically a normal endoscopy but aggravation probably from the heartburn. The Dr. will probably be putting you on medication (nexium, propulsid...etc). to decrease the acid.

Youve got inflammation of your oesophagus (food pipe). The first part of your small intestine (your duodenum) is normal.
