Endometriosis.....?

I have suffered with endometriosis for over 17 years (and it's associated bowel/bladder problems etc) I have been lucky enough to have four children, but I have miscarried also.
I am sick of popping painkillers, none of the drugs they have given me have worked adequately.
I am exploring alternative means of pain relief while I am waiting for the hysterectomy I need, as I am having problems with long-term codeine use.
I'd like to hear from anybody suffering from endometriosis that has found some relief from the pain/painkillers.
Thanks.

I've read a lot of NEW research that shows hysterectomy does NOT solve endo problems, especially when it involves bowel & other organs like yours and mine. The ONLY way to get rid of it is by cutting it out, not by burning it (which is traditionally taught to docs). Do some research & you'll find lots of docs out there who have had great success by cutting out all the endo cells they find.
If you're looking for relief through meds, ask your doc about Meclomen. It's an NSAID like Aleve or Advil but it does something extra - it reduces your flow tremendously. Less flow means less pain when it comes to endo. This could make it more manageable for you, it's also non-habit forming.

Some painkillers actually complicate endometriosis. You need to have the surgery or long term codeine use could lead you to a liver failure.

Pain relief from endometriosis is not perminant but you can try some herbal teas. Sometimes a prenatal vitamin can help with some symptoms naturally. I would recommend warm compresses and warm tea.
