Endometriosis-?

I have endometriosis, I have the options of horomone drugs, pain drugs, hysterctimy, or just dealing with it. Is there anything else?

Yes!

Acupuncture and traditional Chinese herbal therapy has been shown to work very well for endometriosis. There are many acupuncturists out there who specialize in women's medicine, as this is one segment of the field where TCM seems to provide significantly greater benefits to the patients than traditional western therapies.

I work frequently with women who suffer from "female" problems such as PMS, severe menstrual cramps, endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome, etc, and most patients show significant improvements.

Here is a link to a variety of alternative therapies for endometriosis, not just acupuncture, detailing how the alternative therapies work and what the patient can expect.

Generally speaking, herbal therapy is used in combination with acupuncture, as herbal medicine is the primary modality for the treatment of OBGYN disorders.

afraid not, i have it as well and with no ins mine is dealing with it...good luck!

ive had friends with this, its a very painful thing to go through so i would recomend some sort of help, but i personally am very against a historectomy. there is still a very high chance u can get pregnant!

i think you can get an operation where they remove most of it but it can grow back i spose it depends on the individual case and how bad it is
good luck

Hey I was diagnosed with endo @ 15 and was promptly referred for a laproscopy (a surgical procedure where they make an incision in your navel and place a tiny camera inside to have a squiz about your ovaries etc to look for any endo - it looks gross like little cysts) and if you do have any they will then make another incision either side of your navel for their scalpels and tongs and then literally "slice" off the endo. The operation is fairly painless although u do feel a bit soft round the tummy for a good month. The operation has an 85% success rate (meaning that for 85% of endo sufferers it will never grow back). Being on the pill also helps to slow down the growth of endometriosis. Talk to your GP about it but I would strongly recommend it - its changed my life :-)

Birth control pills are the best way of dealing w/ this. Depending on your situation, Lupron may also be a possiblity. You can also have surgery to burn some of the lesions which may help w/ the pain. Hysterectomy is the last resort.

Excision surgery with a true Endo specialist. See http://www.centerforendo.com and http://www.endometriosissurgeon.com for info on why excision is superior to all other treatments.
