Endometriosis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

im 16 i have a pain every month before my cycle around where my ovaries are i tracked my symptoms and it seems i might have endometriosis if i get the surgery i will be able to have kids still one day right?????? I've been haveing these symptoms since i was about 13 or 14 PLEASE HELP ME

Self diagnosis is not a good idea.

Yes honey you can still have kids.

hopefully you havent actually had it that long. Only your doctor could really know. call first thing in the morning and ask. Im sorry you have it. its painful!

you really need to go to the doctor, my doctor put me on the pill and if helped alot. but please go to the doctor, they can help you more than we can.

I would suggest talking to your ob/gym about it. I knew a girl in high school that had a similar problem and she can still have kids. They have amazing technology these days!

i've heard that endometriosis may make one infertile. However, birth control may help the cramps stop. that would be a good way to go first, and then if not...i would see. Talk to your obgyn to be sure.

You need to see a doctor before you get yourself all worked up. There are ways to control the pain. However, it does depend on the severity of it. Just please go see your doctor.

First of all, there is a possibility you might not have endometriosis. Even if you do there is also a possibility that you might not need surgery. There are many different treatments for endometriosis. Speak to your doctor about your symptoms and go from there. For the record only 30%-40% of women that have endometriosis are infertile. Sometimes that infertility can be cleared up with surgery.

My Mom has it, and the best thing for you to do is go to the doctor, ob/gyn. I've been worried too, since it's hereditary, and my periods can be bad too. So far I'm in the clear but it can develop later so don't think if your Dr. says you're ok now that means you're safe for good. Every few years I'll bring it up w/ mine. It can make it difficult but not impossible to have kids, so I do bring it up that it's possible if I'm getting to "that talk" with a serious BF.

Dr Jazz is right.
Don't diagnose yourself, there are a number of reasons for your symptoms.
Go and see your gyneacologist, as soon as possible.

I had pain too right after my first kid at 16, and the doctors never listened to me, they would keep giving me birth control pills to control the bleeding, and I had a complete total hysterectomy when I was 38. I never had another child either, so if your periods are absolutely awful, blood everywhere, demand that they at least look inside there, it's worth it to find out early. Don't let it go on too long.

Go talk to your doctor about this, and ask to see an obstetrician or a gynocologist. It's quite possible you have nothing at all to worry about and don't have endemetriosis. Just go and see a doctor, it's better to be safe than sorry, and if there is a problem it's absolutely the best thing to know about it as soon as possible and start having treatment.

You don't mention which surgery so I am going to assume you mean a laparoscopy. A lap is done to really diagnose if Endo implants have grown and where. During the lap the doctor can remove these implants, and it is possible for people to get pregnant after they heal from surgery. As of today I have under gone 3 laps and I can tell you that I have gotten relief from the Endo pain for a little while but my pain has returned. I have talked to other women who have under gone the same treatment program as me and are fine and suffer no pain after the first lap. But I can also tell you that I have two wonderful children. You need to talk w/ your doctor and decide what treatments are best for you.
