Electrolytes Drinks?

I need to start using a electrolyte replacement drink during the hot weather because of a health condition.
Any recomendations?

I like those from ProLithic but you'll be better informed by getting a book called, 'Analyzing Sports Drinks, What's Right for You? Carbohydrate or Electrolyte Replacement?' It's only about $5 and should be available from most stores (definitely on Amazon.com).

Gatorade is the best

I only know gatorade, which I find too damn sweet when I exercise.

Electrolyte drinks are a big scam anyways. All they have is a bit extra salt and maybe some potassium. You can get that yourself for 1/100 of the cost, either by increasing it in your diet or salt tablets.

Smart water. It's cheap and you can change it to anything because its water! It's a vapor distilled water with electrolytes added in. I live on it. I use it for everything. I hate gatorade--too much sugar and the flavor is never right. I can make whatever I drink give me extra electrolytes thanks to smart water. :)

I have used Gatorade for about 7 years. Have tried Powerade, doesn't agree with my stomach. Extran was the best stuff for liquid and for liquid food (a big difference btwn the two, but I don't want to go into it here).
Extran is no longer sold in the US ... except I think one running store in PA or NJ or something.
Anyway...Gatorade ... I happen to be one of those people who sweat alot of salt out, so I actually ADD a bit of salt to my Gatorade. Just enough that you can kinda taste it...but barely. It helps on 2hr+ hard rides and 1 1/2hr+ hard runs or in high (90+ degree) heat runs.
Gatorade Endurance is Gatorade's newest product...made for endurance athletes. It is more expensive...and I think all they did was added a bit of salt!
I agree with one other writer's comment- gatorade gets REALLY sweet tasting after the 3rd or 4th hour on the bike..or 2hours into the run. Sickeningly sweet. Extran never did that...but I don't use extran anymore since it is so hard to find.
Find one that agrees w both your tastebuds and your stomach, and stick with it!
