What is an electrolyte imbalance? What are electrolytes?


I've been told that I have an electrolyte imbalance. What does that mean? What causes an electrolyte imbalance? What kind of symptoms are caused by this?

Potassium, sodium, Chloride, Magnesium, etc.
Several disorders can result from an imbalance in 1 or more of these:
heart arrythmias, seizures, coma, muscle cramps, etc

Electrolytes are the important salts in you body. Like chloride, calcium, magnesium, sodium, and potassium. Without theright amount you can have kidney problems and if it gets really bad you v=can end up in the hospital.
