Injury on my inner elbow? |
whenever i extend my arm, the inside of my elbow hurts. i've never had an elbow injury before. recently, i have been tumbling, stunting (lifting people, it's part of cheerleading), and benching and squatting. does anyone know what this injury could be? is it just a sore muscle or something more serious? it's definitely not tendonitis. it just started hurting randomly yesterday. i would have noticed it easing into this pain. As long as there was no obvious injury that started the pain, it sounds like tendonitis. Very common in your sport. If you don't get it treated it will get worse. Massive amounts of ice and daily anti-inflammatory are the most common treatment, but you have to rest it for a little while till the inflammation goes down. If you go to the doctor then he/she can give the right kind of anti-inflammatory. After the pain goes down and you can get back to cheer leading (1-2 weeks) you will need to ice it after every practice and every game to keep flare-ups from happening. I played division I college soccer and dealt with tendonitis in my knee. If you stay on top with icing it down after every practice and game you can still have a normal athletic career. not serious |
