In the middle of a bout with the flu, suddenly a hot, swollen painful elbow...no injury..any ideas?? |
I came down with the flu Monday. By Tuesday, I was sporting a 103 temp, chills, headache, body aches, cough, sore throat. I stayed in bed beginning Monday evening. I got up only when necessary.....went back to bed asap. Wednesday morning, I noticed my right elbow was sore. Odd.....since I have been in bed, and know without doubt that I have not injured it. As the day wears on, I noticed a pretty large area surrounding and including my elbow that was hot, quite swollen, and painful to the touch. Moving the elbow was not a big deal, at least not at first. Now it is getting a little painful to move...shooting sharp pains. But its the swelling and heat in it that have me puzzled. There is no localized area of infection that I can see. No yellow areas, no red lines. Only a large bump, swollen and hot. If its not better, I will go to urgent care tomorrow. But I am curious...does this sound familiar to anyone? What can it be?? My flu is almost gone, still some fever and cough. I read your question and a warning bell rang .. ONLY i have no idea why exactly just something i heard at sometime...I MAY have my information muddled BUT ( DAMN I WISH I COULD REMEMBER WHAT IT WAS) .. I would suggest you at least call the emergency clinic .. tell them the symptoms and see what they say... |
