My mums docters are considering an elbow replacement after a serious crush injury advantages and disadvatages?

can she do anything to prevent this? how long will she take to recover? incedently she got run over by a bus and is otherwise quite unharmed, there is no nerve damage.

Some people may doub't this to be an honest question, but I had an uncle who was run over by his big rig (breaks went out on a hill) and after kneecap replacement surgery, he was fine. Still driving the rigs.

Now, to the question at hand...

My dad had his hip replaced, before he could barely walk. He couldn't even reach to his feet to put on/take off his shoes and socks. After... heck no one can keep up with him... he's got a new lease on life. And, of course, my Uncle is doing great, too.
