If you're a pitcher is it recomended that you get the skrew out your elbow from a medial epicondyle fracture. |
I am a 14 year old pitcher and 4 months ago I broke my elbow in a game while pitching. The injury was called a medial epicondyle fracture and required surgery. They put a skrew in my elbow to hold the bone in place. I can get the skrew out, but i'm not sure if i should. Also, how long should it be until my arm is back to normal? Only your doctor could answer that question. Ideally, we do want the screw removed if your bone has fully recovered because bone is stronger and more flexible when you compare weight by weight to metal. But it all depends on how well your bone heals itself. If it's not strong enough, leave the screw in, if it is, the doc will determine if you're ready or not to take it out. |
