I fell and bruised my above the elbow. The bruise isn't too bad but my whole muscle hurts?

when I bend my arm I feel the muscle pulling. It hurts everytime I move. The black and blue is barely there though.

Did I just hurt it too deep to see a bruise? Or is it just a muscle injury that isn't black and blue worthy and will heal on its own? Or did I mess my arm up and need to actually do something about it?

It hurts the worse (not horrible pain but a bit more than uncomfortable...enough to cause me to cringe) when I bend my elbow.

help? any suggestions on what i did/how to treat it?
thanks!

I don't think you need to worry about it. You probably bruised the muscle (happens to me very often as I do Tae Kwon Do sparring :D its unpleasant but not serious) It hurts when you bend your elbow because you are either stretching the sore part or using it.

The reason you dont see a bruise is simply because you did not break that many blood vessels.

It will resolve on its own, usually in 1-3 weeks. You don't need to do anything.

you can help it out by getting blood flowing to the area by moving your arm around (even if it hurts! bend it as much as you feel you can take painwise, otherwise it will take forever to heal) and icing it occasionally.

It depends on how long its been hurting you for. If its been more than three days, you have to get it checked out. Do not worry about the fact that the black and blue is not there. If your bone is injured, it will not be apparent unless it swells up but that usually your muscle. Give it 5-7 days top. after that, I strongly advise that you visit the hospital for an x-ray.
