Difference between elbow flexion and extention.?

Hi, can someone tell me what this means regarding a C5 injury. Thanks.

So,is it possible to eat fairly independently, spoon in a hand strap, extend arm with help and flex arm on their own? After intensive PT , of course.

Elbow flexion is when you bend your arm at your elbow. Extension is the opposite, when you extend your arm out straight. If you have a c5 injury these movements would probably be painful or difficult to execute.

Yes, absolutely, but patience and perseverence is the key. :)
