Can old injuries ever heal? I have had multiple injuries that i have not done anything about for years now?

Is there any help out there or are all the nerves sealed, broken tibia and fibula, hurt knee, winged scapula, hurt elbow, and hurt wrist

I've looked after an elderly man who had broken his humerus (upper arm) 20 years previously and he never did anything about it. He lived on his own.

On xray you could see that the bones had over-ridden each other so that the ends of the fracture were along each other for about 5cm and there was a lot of calculus around them. The fractured arm had healed into a dog leg.

Enough about others. How did you get these injuries and why didn't you do something about it at the time? Don't tell me - motorbike accident.

The winged scapula - depending on the exact caused though , could well heal it self with some rowing exercises. Your infraspinatus may need reattachment if it remains like that for greater than 2 years. If it was a more serious brachial plexus palsy I'm sure you would not have just let your arm hang there. Does it need a sling at times, though?!

Fractured tib plateau was it? Or along the length? Knees are tricky. Fib: it's splinted by your tib but that is dicky so go see your orthopod. And get some physio too.

Elbow and wrist I'm sure have some movement so see an Occupational Therapist for fine motor improvement.

depending on the injury, yes your body will heal itself over time as long as you don't do anything to reinjure yourself. It might not heal correctly but it will heal.
