Am i mental??

hi,
im being deadly serious with all the things i say i do here. so please if you feel its abnormal don't call me a freak because it hurts my feelings. so basically all my life ive wondered if i have some sort of mental disorder,or does everyone do what i do. i have a weird obsession for the number 4, say if i accidentally hit my elbow on my chair...and would then have to repeat hitting my elbow 4 times, and sometimes 16 times. because 4x4 is 16.
also, i was never able to go to sleep at night until i had punched my bed post 16 times!
another weird thing i have always done is, (well this is really hard to explain), sometimes i will be doing something and ill be creating an alibi for myself as i do it. and i can hear myself talking to me but im not really saying it. its weird. and im creating this police alibi of what im doing exactley am im doing it. and sometimes ill just appear in a police room, and ill b explainin to the police what im doing rite now as if its in the future

what are you, some kind of freak?

calm down lady u are

No, you're not "mental". It sounds like you have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) to me. As far as the police alibi situation, I would need more information about it and whether or not you lose touch with reality when it happens. If you explain more, I'll tell you what I think.

I think you have ocd. it is can be treated you must see a professional

You probably have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, also known as OCD. I have had that since I was 10 years old and there's still a little of it left in me and I'm 27. It's hard to let go. I had obsessions like yours with numbers for a very long time. I also had obsessions with light switches (turning them on and off a certain number of times), opening and closing the refrigerator door--you name it, I had it.

You can see a psychologist. A psychiatrist is really not going to help much because they say that there really aren't any drugs out there that specifically treat OCD. Get a book or a few books on OCD and how to treat the symptoms. You're totally not mental. This is not a disease, but it is something that takes a lot of work to get rid of.

Hope that helps.

Good luck.

O.C.D. pure and simple. Get professional help, and good luck you are not alone.

Tell a doctor so you can help yourself

seriously i no u are not telling the truth.nobody does that even with ocd

IM NOT STUPID.U R FAKING

the first things sounds like OCD but you might want to get some professional help

The first section-
OCD, it's a good thing to stop this. You're not 'mental'... you're just... YOU... This is relatively common but can be quite hard to deal with. I agree with the person a few people above me, get some books and psychiatrists can't really help.

The second section-
This is called imagination, ... usually... If the extent goes very, very, very far then maybe you should go to see the doctor...

AND-
There is an disorder that makes you want to diagnose yourself all the time, and diagnose everything as a way of dealing with the way you're different from others. The truth is, you ARE different from others. It's natural.

However, you are just wondering since you recognise the problems with numbers.

Like everyone else saids, it does seem like you might have OCD due to all the rituals that you must do. Get some professional help! Good Luck to you!

If you have to ask, I don't think you are. Sounds like you just have some OCD, Obsessive Compulsive disorder. People are really just stuck in bondage by the enemy, thats why they do these unnecessary things. Ask yourself what would happen if you didnt do what your mind is telling you to do. Nothing will happen to you. Dont hurt your elbow, your body is a temple of the Lord, and you don't need to hit the bed, try reading or saying your prayers, or listening to am talk radio to calm your nerves.

As for the talking to yourself, sounds like you just like drama, that part is not really that bad, get a job on a soap opera.

First thing, don't listen to the ones sayin bad things, there just trying to upset you.

From what everyone esle posted, I mean I don't know too much about OCD, but it seems like that's wut you may have. It makes sense because it seems like you do things a certain number of times because you may be feeling it's not 'complete' so to speak if you don't do it. If it bothers you or the problem becomes harmful you should seek help. Maybe from your parents, good friends, a doctor, or anyone you wish would take good care of you. I mean we all do things differently, and if you don't have a problem with it and it's not harmful then maybe there's no need to try and stop. After all what's to say what's normal or not. What even defines normal?
The second thing you mention (which makes me beleive it may be someting other than OCD) seems not to be anything like OCD. It sounds like you are maybe judging yourself, like unsure of what you need to do or why you are doing it. Maybe you feel its wrong, maybe you feel more needs to be done. This could be maybe because you underestimate yourself or feel you fell below the norms of society or something. Don't take this the wrong way though, I'm just suggesting ideas not telling you this is how you feel. Nobody really knows how you feel except you. It helps to talk with your friends or family, or simply someone you trust. They can guide you because they know you best. Are you mental? Certainly not. You're in your right state of mind just by typing on the computer. Like me, and the rest of the world, you just see things differently. It's one of life's great mysteries.
Anyway, your far from being mental. Random thought, you probably make a good writer lol. The police alibi thing is very interesting, and I bet your not alone in that. If you want anymore help, just feel free to ask! 8)
P.S. I like how you spelt h0p3 (hope) with nums. 8P
